Divers Alert Network has developed classes that every diving professional should take
and information most students would want to know!

The classes work like this:
First you email an invitation for the student to take the on-line class. This on-line class replaces the in-class presentation. You no longer have to stock any inventory (all of which had a limited shelf life when ILCOR changed protocols). The book, slate, instructor manual and videos are all online and downloadable now.

As an instructor, you have a tracking page where you can monitor when they register, when they start and when they complete the course material.

When they show up for class, you go over the Chapter Review Questions included in the material, then teach the skills and administer the Final Assessment.

When the class has been completed, you then return to your tracking page and check a box marked "Approve". Their completion card is emailed to them (and you get a copy).

Cost of on-line course to student= $0
Cost of on-line course to you= $0

The only cost is a $10 per student completion fee.

You do not have to inventory any books, videos, instructor manuals or slates. You do not have to deliver a presentation. The course material has to be completed prior to class, so the students show up better prepared. The class should cost less to teach, take less teaching time, decrease your inventory load and increase your bottom line.

DAN Courses

The Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Emergencies course
assists with Scuba diving injuries and non-fatal drowning.
This should be mandatory class for every diver!
(prerequisite CPR)

The BLS course meets ILCOR/AHA guidelines
and includes F-A-S-T assessment, allergic reaction & opioid overdose treatment
and how to apply a tourniquet!

The Neurological Assessment course teaches you to recognize
the signs of a stroke or decompression illness.
This should be mandatory for any staff member
and most divers will want the info as well.

The Hazardous Marine Life Injuries class teaches you
how to assist with stings, bites and seafood poisoning.
Valuable information and skills for travelers and
who doesn't want to go to the warm salt water?

The DEMP course is a comprehensive First Aid course.
You will teach the four courses listed above in one fluid class.
Each section has a separate final assessment so the class
can be delivered over multiple sessions if desired.

If you are already a DAN Instructor and want to take the next step, the ITW Course may be right for you. You will be able to train your staff to teach DAN courses.
